Wedding at Hotel Ocho in Toronto

I was thrilled to photograph Nonna and Andrew’s intimate wedding at Hotel Ocho in Toronto. I would described them as my ideal type of couple to work with - clam, relaxed and easy-going. They came across my website on google and found my candid wedding photography style fits their need very well.

Hotel Ocho Wedding Venue in Toronto

Hotel Ocho is located at the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Queen Street West in Toronto. The building was constructed back in 1902 as a factory. In 2011, the new ownership group converted it into a boutique hotel and furnished it with a modern industrial flair. Walking inside the hotel, you will be greeted with exposed wooden beams, steel structures, white marble and black granite. The venue is perfect for small and intimate weddings of about 100 guests. Given the convenient location of this venue, Hotel Ocho wedding cost is quite reasonable. I have been told expect to spend between $50-$150 per head, depending on the date.

An intimate and Casual Wedding at Hotel Ocho

Nonna and Andrew’s wedding day starts with a ceremony on the ground floor of the hotel Ocho. The rectangular space has concrete flooring and exposed brick walls, and you can decorate as much or as little as you like. The area is big enough to comfortably seat around 80 guests. After the ceremony, we utilized the rustic and industrial interior to create some intimate and natural wedding portraits. The casual sit-down dinner reception was held on the second floor of the venue. The wooden beams and warm lighting creates a homely and cozy feeling. I was able to capture a lot of candid and natural moments of guests interacting with each other. After dinner, everyone went back downstairs to witness the couple’s first dance, which is then followed by a lot of drinking and dancing.

A few weeks after their wedding day, I delivered the final edited photos to Nonna and Andrew. After receiving and reviewing their wedding photos, here is what they said:

Wayne is a great photographer with a careful eye for detail. He shot our wedding exactly as we asked him to, and he made sure to capture quiet candid moments along with crowd photos and posed portraits. We were really thrilled with the quality of the photography and how well our day was captured.
