Last weekend we were part of T&K's Sangeet ceremony, which is a celebration party before the actual wedding day in the Indian culture. Traditionally, the Sangeet ceremony is organized by the bride's family and is exclusive to female guests. In modern days, it has evolved into a casual gathering between close family members of the couple. The Sangeet ceremony is a night filled with instrumental performance, singing, dancing, eating and drinking. The party can not be completed without Dandiya Raas, an Indian folk dance in which participants line up in a circle and hit each other's stick in a four beat rhythm.
